Your first day

Find out everything you need to know about your first day at CIE Oxford. Watch some useful videos to help you.

Senior

 

On your first day at CIE, please arrive before 8:30 am. You have done the test at home, so you have already been placed in your class. One of our members of staff will meet you at the entrance and give you a ‘Welcome Pack’, including a map of the college, general information and everything you need to study at CIE. You will then find your way to the CIE building, where you will find the timetable with your classroom. Your teacher will meet you in your classroom and give you more information on CIE and LMH. Please don’t be late.

 

 

Junior

 

On your first day at CIE, please arrive at 8:30am. You will then do a short test to find the right class for you. Every day when you arrive at CIE, an adult must sign you in. When you leave CIE, an adult must also sign you out.

In the mornings, if you are 10 to 12 years old, your lessons will start at 9 o’clock. Please find your name on the timetable and check which room you are in. You will need to go to this class every day. Lunch starts at 12:20. CIE staff will accompany you to have lunch every day. Activities start at around 13:30. After activities you will come back to CIE.

If you are 13 to 14 years old, you will have activities in the morning. Activities start at 9:15am. You will have lunch at 12 o’clock. Lessons for 13-14 year-olds start at 1pm. Please find your name on the timetable and check which room you are in. You will need to go to this class every day.

 

 

Academic year (September to June)

On your first morning, please come to the reception office at the school at 8:45 a.m.

When you arrive, you will have a short induction. We will explain your course, show you our kitchen, and introduce you to your teacher. You will also receive a welcome pack with all the information you need about your stay here. We will also ask to see your passport. You should have done your level test before arriving, so you can join your class at 9 am.

At the end of your first week, we will ask you for your feedback, but you can discuss your course or accommodation at any time with one of the course directors: Irma (or Julie, the Accommodation Officer).
