Activities and Excursions
Summer Programme (and upon request by special groups)
Our activities and excursions programme is at its busiest in the summer. We offer weekday social activities every morning for junior students (10 – 13) on an optional basis or as part of our summer packages. For our Senior students (14+) we offer afternoon activities twice a week within their package.
During the summer, we also run our own customised programme of weekend excursions for students of all ages. This programme includes visits to London, Warwick Castle, Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, the Roman city of Bath, Stonehenge, and other places of historical and cultural interest.
For closed groups we can also arrange customised programmes of weekday activities and weekend excursions from September to June, upon request.
During the Academic Year
During the academic year, we are pleased to offer an optional programme of social, sporting, and cultural activities. The programme is customised to meet the desires of current students and we will offer two activities each week including one free activity and one paid activity. The programme might include:
Free Activities:
- Visits to world-famous museums such as the Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers museums
- Sightseeing
- Football and other sports
- Pub socials
Paid activities (average cost between £5-£10)
- Punting on the rivers
- Ice skating
- Oxford University College visits
- Cream teas
At the weekends throughout the year, you can choose to take part in a variety of exciting excursions. The weekend tours are organised by a travel company who we work closely with – UK Study Tours. Our office staff will be happy to book these trips for you. Please note that if you are under the age of 16 and you would like to take part in an excursion during the academic year (September to June) you must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
