COVID-19 Update
We would like to give peace of mid for your upcoming study plans, so we have revised our Terms and Conditions to make them more flexible.  The following terms Terms and Conditions are applicable to any bookings made from 1st September 2020 and are valid until the end of 2020.  They apply to all face to face courses except online courses, where standard terms and conditions apply.  
Before starting a course (Cancellation or Postponement):
If we receive notice of postponement and/or cancellation for a course more than 14 working days before the start of a course:  
– Tuition and Homestay: no cancellation fee. A full refund including deposit or credit note valid for 3 years from the original start date will be given.  (The bank charge will be deducted from the refund.)
-Countries requiring visa: no cancellation fee.  However, a GBP500 deposit is required to issue a visa invitation letter.  GBP100 is non-refundable.  The remaining amount can be kept as a credit note for 3 years if a postponement is necessary.


General Terms and Conditions

Deposit, Full payment and visa invitation letter:

A deposit of GBP100 (NB. If you need a Visa Letter for Student Visitor Visa, Child Visitor and Extended Student Visitor Visa for Student Visa, the deposit will be a minimum of GBP500 – required prior to enrolment. Once the deposit has been received, CIE will forward a Home Office letter of acceptance (CAS) to facilitate Visa and Immigration applications. The full payment is required 4 weeks before the student arrives. We are unable to offer refunds or fee credits for English public holidays on which the school is closed, so please make your study and travel plans accordingly.

Course Participation:
Course participation may take place once CIE is in receipt of all fees, completed application forms, and a signed copy of student Terms and Conditions. Course participation will take place in CIE from 09:00 every Monday.

Payment can be made using Flywire (online transaction), by cheque or by Bank Transfer. Cheques are payable to CIE Oxford. Bank Transfers are subject to a GBP12 surcharge.

When there is no alternative, CIE reserves the right to alter courses and course dates without notice. In such cases, alternative arrangements will be made of equal or greater value than the original course booking.

Refund and cancellation policy:
Deposit: The deposit of GBP100, which becomes a part of the programme fee, is non-refundable. CIE won’t be able to refund the deposit under any circumstances. The programme fee (Tuition, Accommodation, Transfers and Social Activities fee)

  • There will be a 20% course cancellation charge if you cancel 3 or 4 weeks before the start of the course. 50% refund is available to students who cancel the course less than 2 weeks prior to course commencement. (However, in both circumstances, the credit may be substituted for a future course within an agreed period.)
  • No refund is available to students who reduce the length of their course, after course has started, unless there has been an agreed arrangement.
  • CIE will refund the full amount of the programme fee paid, except the deposit of GBP100, in the case where a student’s visa has been refused (subject to confirmation of the original visa refusal letter by the UK Embassy). Students must apply for a refund within 4 weeks of refusal date.

Medical and travel insurance:
Students must obtain medical and travel insurance prior to enrolment.

Student Conduct, Liability, and Complaints:
Students are required to adhere to the rules of CIE, which they receive at enrolment (or in a pre-arrival letter). The college reserves the right to suspend or dismiss any student, without refund, who behaves in a manner which is deemed to be unsatisfactory. In all such cases, the Home Office and the student’s family will be informed. CIE is not liable for any damage sustained by students, or their property, howsoever caused, while enrolled at the college.

Complaints about any aspect of CIE should be addressed directly to the Principal. CIE may sometimes use photographs of students for promotional purposes. Please let us know if you do not want us to use your photographs in this way.

I (the student, and my parent/guardians, if I am under 18) have read and fully understood the Terms and Conditions. (If the student is under 18, the parents or guardian, give permission for the child to travel unaccompanied to the UK to follow an English course at CIE Oxford.
