I recommend to visit my city Tochigi in Japan. It is rural, so it isn’t famous. I think you don’t know my city, but it is a very wonderful place.
First, the most popular place there is Nikko. It is a very beautiful temple called Toshogu. Temple is a building where people go to worship. It was built in 1616. It is about 390 years ago! There are a lot of carvings in the temple. For example, it is monkeys and cats and so on. Do you know “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”? The words come from this temple. There is a carving of three monkies cover their mouth, eyes or ears. This temple is dedicated to Ieyasu Tokugawa, the first shogun in Edo period. Near by there is a waterfall, a lake, a mountain and so on. On the mountain there is a steep slope. It is a winding road. It is called Irohazaka. It is a lot of maple trees around of the road. In fall season, all leaves turn red. It is very beautiful. So you can enjoy a wonderful view here.
Second you should try to make pottery. You can make a cup or a dish from clay. You can make it with your own shape, and paint your own pictures. So some of people write their name, their poem or their marks. It is very intresting, isn’t it?
Finally, do not leave here without eating strawberries. My city’s strawberries are most delicious in Japan I think. It is better than Wimbledon’s one. They are deep red and the taste is really sweet. So you should try them. If you forget to try it, you will regret it.
You should come to my city! |
